We’d like to introduce you to the newest member of the Castelazo Content team, Robin J. Phillips – Senior Content Developer. After months of searching for the right person to join our team, we found Robin at the perfect time. With her help we will be able to take Castelazo Content to the next level!
A little history
Robin went to the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she received her BA in Journalism & Political Science. She spent a Junior Year Abroad at the University of Nottingham were she studied Politics. She topped it off with a Master of Liberal Studies, specializing in online communities, from Arizona State University. GO DEVILS!
She has 20 years of experience in writing, editing, and journalism; three of those years were in technology writing. “I am a professional print and online journalist and I’ve spent most of my career covering and managing business beats, including technology, innovation, startups, real estate, energy, and natural science.” Robin has shared her experience and expertise with others through a 400-level undergraduate course on the Business & Future of Journalism at ASU and has spent the past five years creating educational materials to help people cover business topics.
It was not just her experience that captured us, but her passion: “I am passionate about writing, reading, researching and learning new things every day. And I love technology.I was drawn to journalism because I love to write. I love to research, to learn and to think. And I’m passionate about the process of finding the tale, finding the words that pull my audience through the story, helping them engage in the topic.”
Robin is the co-founder of Pretty Smart Women LLC. They launched their first product, SkinneePix app in 2014 and it was named one of the Best Photo Apps of 2014 by USAToday. She also co-created a weekly online forum for discussion of Web Journalism. “Hundreds of journalists from around the world gather for this weekly Twitter-based conversation about social media, web tools, best practices in online storytelling.” You can find more information on Twitter at @WJCHAT, hashtag #wjchat.
Robin has done work for many prestigious and well known companies/organization including, the City of Glendale, BusinessWeek, Reynolds Center for Business Journalism, Cronkite School of Journalism, The Arizona Republic, China Mist Tea, Arizona Game & Fish, and Gannett Inc.
We are very excited for all the experience, passion, and personality she brings to the table.
